𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 – Easter Egg Challenge
In light of Easter, the RBHS Interact Society hosted the 2021 Easter Egg Challenge, a donation drive in which boys donated marshmallow Easter eggs. The competition between classes to bring the most eggs resulted in a very successful drive, and the initiative was even extended to RBPS as it became so popular.
Originally, the Easter eggs were only planned to go to one orphanage, but the outstanding effort from parents and boys resulted in 12 500 Easter eggs being donated. With the eggs collected at RBPS grand total came to 17 250 Easter eggs! This allowed us to donate to 11 different organizations, spreading Easter joy from Rondebosch all the way to Langa.
RBHS had a large delivery event the day before Easter, bringing Easter eggs to Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Marsh Memorial Orphanage, The Haven Night Shelter, Avondrust Old Age Home, Ladles of Love, Siyaphambili Orphanage in Langa, and Where Rainbows Meet, a non-profit community empowerment organization in Vrygrond. Students from the Interact Society also hosted a fun Easter egg hunt with the children of Siyaphambili Orphanage after donating the Easter eggs.
The Preparatory school donated to Heaven’s Nest Orphanage, Ysterplaat Primary School, Restoring Hope and Maitland Cottage Children’s Hospital. These deliveries were coordinated by Ms Ewen at RBPS.
This was a wildly successful event, and is a testament to the enormous positive impact the Bosch family can have on the greater community when working together. Thank you to all boys and parents who were extremely generous with their donations, the Interact Society for delivering these donations, and Mrs Fraser for giving the boys at Bosch a platform to create and run these amazing initiatives.
Congratulations to the classes who donated the most Easter eggs:
1st place: B2
2nd place: B4
3rd place: C5
Thank you so much to all of the wonderful people who donated to this drive – you put smiles on many, many faces!
