Football Kit Hand-Over Ceremony

Our first team football kit hand-over ceremony took place at the Rondebosch Boys’ High School, Memorial Hall on Tuesday, 8 June 2021.

The occasion was graced by our football sponsors, Auric Auto BMW and Sim Tours, as well as our kit sponsor, Laurus Sports.

Auric Auto BMW is our headline sponsor. Laurus Sports sponsored both home and away kits to our first team.

Mr Eric Scoble, of the class of E’78, represented Auric Auto BMW and Mr Sameeh McLaurie represented Sim Tours on behalf of Mr Rasthoem Simons. Roscoe Pietersen, current professional footballer for Cape United FC (1st division) and former Ajax Cape Town and Supersport United player, represented Laurus Sports, as he is their brand ambassador.

The school is incredibly grateful for the continued support from our loyal sponsors, particularly in this present-day climate of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Football at the school started off very small in 2010, with only an U15 and U19 team, playing football over a four-week period. Today, we are proud to say that we have grown to 6 teams, with football being classified as a major winter sport at RBHS, along with rugby and hockey. RBHS also boasts the highest number of football teams out of all the schools in the current league. Football is being played as a full winter season. We have a dedicated professional coach for each team, thanks to Sim Tours for their involvement in this regard. With the financial aid, our coaches have most of the relevant equipment at their disposal for all practices.

Mr Roscoe Pietersen (on behalf of Mr Grant Veitch of Laurus Sports), was thanked for delivering on a very sophisticated kit for our boys. Our players are very excited to don their new kit on the sports field. I am sure our players will wear these kits with pride as they represent Rondebosch Boys’ High School, on and off the field.
