𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗖𝗛 𝗕𝗢𝗬𝗦’ 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐍𝐒𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒

For the fifteenth consecutive year, the young men of 𝑹𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒔𝒄𝒉 𝑩𝒐𝒚𝒔’ 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 achieved a 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞.

Rondebosch is one of 22 schools and 3 boys’ schools in the Western Cape to do so consistently over the past 5 years. 9.3% of schools nationally have achieved at this level. The provincial pass rate is 81.4%. Given the context of pandemic learning, where this cohort spent two years in variable learning conditions, it is commendable that E’22, our largest intake thus far, achieved a 91.3% university entrance rate. The 172 candidates achieved 446 A symbols with an average distinction rate of 2.6 per pupil. The group average was 72.2%. 58 boys had an average of above 80%, 12 of whom averaged above 90%. 17 students achieved a full house of A symbols. Of this group, 𝟔 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝟗 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝟏𝟎! 4 boys achieved 8 A symbols. 𝑆𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑔𝑜 𝑡𝑜 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝟏𝟎𝟎% 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞. 𝐽𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 100% 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐴𝑑𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚𝑚𝑒 𝑀𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑠. He achieved a distinction in all of his nine subjects; 8 of which were above 90%. 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝟗𝟕.𝟑%, 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝟗𝟓.𝟔% 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟗𝟒.𝟖%.

While these excellent results are the culmination of years of focus and hard work on the part of both the boys and their teachers and the standard of tuition they received. They are also indicative of a group that raised the bar in terms of school involvement and support.
