in 1909 to support the Rondebosch boys and staff, to help Old Boys maintain links with the Schools and with each other. Over the years, the Old Boys\u2019 Union has assumed an essential role in raising funds for the benefit of the Prep and High Schools and providing other support. The Union has some 8 600 members spread across the globe in 53 countries. These events are open to all Old Boys including those travelling on business, leisure or doing a gap year. Programmes are funded at the Prep and High School to help these boys as required, including extra lessons, diagnostic tests, mentoring and counselling.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the main entities supporting the Rondebosch Boys' Schools are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Rondebosch Boys' Schools Education Trust<\/strong> which raises funds for the long-term sustaining of Rondebosch's educational, cultural and sporting programmes and provision of scholarship to deserving boys. It is the primary vehicle for managing donations and bequests for the support of the schools.<br \/><strong>The Old Boys' Union<\/strong> which provides a network between Old Boys and Rondebosch, promotes camaraderie, supports the Rondebosch Schools and keeps Old Boys informed about Union and school activities. It also raises funds for its own purposes and special projects at the schools.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_18 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_12_24 et_flex_column_12_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_25 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>We invite Old Boys and others who appreciate the important role of our Schools to leave either a fixed amount or a percentage of their estates to the Rondebosch Boys' Schools Education Trust for the benefit of future generations of Rondebosch boys. Bequests may be allocated to a purpose of the donor's choosing or for general use.<\/p>\n<p>A bequest will not attract estate duty and funds will be used for the benefit of Rondebosch in accordance with the benefactor's wishes.
