Our History

Bosch Lea’s journey began with the official amalgamation of Lea Pre-Primary School and Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School on 1 January 2023. Lea Pre-Primary, established in 1972, had been a cherished part of the Rondebosch community for over five decades, nurturing young children and laying the foundation for their early learning. This new chapter follows thoughtful deliberations and strong support from both schools’ leadership teams and parent communities, marking the start of an exciting collaboration.

As part of this new phase, the name change from Lea Pre-Primary to Bosch Lea has been officially approved by the RBPS School Governing Body (SGB). This name reflects our deep connection to the RBPS community while honouring our legacy and embracing a forward-thinking vision. The merger combines the strengths of both institutions, preserving Lea’s nurturing core values while incorporating the rich traditions and commitment to excellence of Rondebosch Boys’. Bosch Lea’s daily management and operations are directly overseen by the Head of Little Bosch, ensuring a strong connection between Bosch Lea, Little Bosch and RBPS. As Bosch Lea, we remain dedicated to providing high-quality, play based early childhood education, fostering curiosity, confidence and growth in a supportive environment where each child can learn, explore and thrive. We are excited to continue building a bright future together.
