The Arts

Culture at the Lilacs has its own distinctive atmosphere. With its wooden floors, sash windows, brass door knobs and pressed ceilings, this unique building is a perfect environment for inspiring creativity!

All of our boys attend Art classes at the Lilacs and our busy Art Department hosts an exhibition every second year. Our school is rich in drama, which is offered as an extra mural. In addition, the Foundation Phase alternates with the Intermediate Phase in producing a major performance every third year.

Our Music Department fosters a love and appreciation for music, which has resulted in a fine reputation for excellence in this area. Many boys participate in the choirs, jazz band, orchestra and string ensembles and individual music tuition is offered to boys from Grade 3. There are concerts for each age group during the year as well as choir festivals, eisteddfods and community outreach programmes.
