Foundation Phase Grade 1- 3
In the Foundation Phase we aim to foster the development of the whole child – academically, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and culturally. We do this within the framework of a happy, nurturing and progressive school environment.
We cater for boys from Grade 1 to Grade 3, of which there are four classes in each grade. The CAPS curriculum covers English, Mathematics, Life Skills (Personal & Social Well-being, Music, Art and Physical Education), Afrikaans (First Additional Language) and isiXhosa (Second Additional Language). We also have specialist teachers for Music, Art and Physical Education. The latter develops the appropriate skills required for most sporting codes and includes a compulsory swimming lesson once a week during the first and fourth terms.
Information Technology
We incorporate technology to consolidate and extend the skills and concepts that are covered in the curriculum. The ICT syllabus aims to equip learners with basic computer literacy skills so that they are able to complete digital tasks in other content subjects later on in their schooling career. Programmes focus on problem solving skills, computational thinking, coding, language, mathematics and the sciences.
