B-BBEE Opportunity
The Altius et Latius Trust
The Amendment published in May 2019 to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2003 provides the legislative framework for the Trust to receive money and allocate it to pay bursaries for black learners. The Trust is a registered Public Benefit Organisation so any monies paid are tax deductible and a Section 18A certificate will be provided.
The Altius et Latius Trust sets out to offer a sustainable solution to fund previously disadvantaged learners. The solution lies with companies who require a B-BBEE rating and are already spending money on skills development or socio-economic development. These businesses can now direct this spend to The Altius et Latius Trust, which aims to help 50 learners from previously disadvantaged
backgrounds to attend Rondebosch. The Trust also has partnerships with other schools so we can facilitate the required spend on female learners and children with disabilities.
