Congratulations to Aragón Afonso (Grade 9), who competed at the SA Championships for Biathle and Triathle held in Mbombela from 3–5 October.
In the Triathle U17 Finals (run, shoot, swim), he finished a close second, earning the silver medal. The following day, in the Biathle U17 Finals (run, swim, run), he placed 5th, competing well within the South African qualifying times.
Aragón has now been selected for the South African Biathle and Triathle Team that will compete at the World Championships in December — an especially exciting event as it will be hosted in South Africa this year.
