This weekend the Rondebosch boys will be competing in the South African Schools Rowing Championship Regatta at Roodeplaat Dam, north of Pretoria from Friday, 28 February to Sunday 2 March. The SA schools Championships is South Africa’s premier rowing event that closes off the season for schools rowing. The event sees over a thousand young athletes take to the water to battle it out through the heats, semi finals and finals over three days to medal in their respective events.
The regatta is one of the largest rowing regattas that take place on the African continent and we are incredibly excited to be a part of it. We wish the boys well as they represent the school at this prestigious event. We can’t wait to see how the boys do.
Racing will be broadcast live on super sport schools. Race times and finals will be posted on the Rondebosch Rowing Instagram page, @rondeboschrowing, as the regatta progresses.
